The Joinville Domain
The Domaine de Joinville is located between the Baie de Somme, Picardie, and Normandy. Once the hunting lodge of the Chateau d’Eu, this beautiful building sports a red brick facade, typical of northern French, southeastern English, and Flemish architecture. The Baie de Somme and Normandy are separated by a river: the Bresle. The hotel and spa at the Domaine de Joinville are located close to Mer-les-Bains, known for its Art Deco waterfront and its wide, sandy beach at the foot of the highest cliffs in Europe. The Domaine once belonged to the d’Orléans family, including the Count and Countess of Paris, descendants of Louis Philippe.
